Work in Progress

So what's on the drawing board? What've we got going on?

Fly fishing, to be fair, consumes a huge amount of our time. If you’re into chasing trout then New Zealand is the place to be, not quite as it once was, but I guess nowhere is. Pretty much if you’re into any type of fishing, you can’t live anywhere in New Zealand without having relatively easy access to a river, lake, stream or the sea. In this part of the world hydro canals and dams are never too far away either.

But I digress, we have our ongoing projects like the TeNgawai river, seems to be extremely challenging fishing, and discovering new locations and ways of fishing them, tying flies to suit, and documenting what and how we do it.

Writing is some of what we do also, about fishing mainly, but Wyatt Louis does have a couple of rough manuscripts hidden away somewhere, if you’re into an action-adventure type love story, and just need to escape with a coffee on a Sunday morning, one of these may be for you.

Also, as you’ve probably seen on this site already, photographing landscapes is something that’s always on the go, and generally a camera is with us whenever we venture out. You may find a lot of the photos aren’t labelled, but if your interested in any of the locations contact us and we’ll be happy share what we know about them. Also, if you want to adorn the walls of your domicile with anything you see, again contact us.

We also make some of our own gear like belt buckles, fly vices, and a few other bits and bobs. We’re always looking at how we can improve what we use. Sometimes in the past cost has been a factor, or unavailability, so we’ve just made what we need.

And the snowboarding I guess, not really a project as such, just something we do.

Finally the back burner project, almost a personal obsession, lake Wakatipu. It seems to be the one that got away. I’ve never landed a fish out of lake Wakatipu, I’ve hooked them but never got them in the bag as it were. Caught fish in rivers feeding into lake Wakatipu, caught fish in lakes not far from Wakatipu, but never in the lake itself. And its not from a lack of trying; fished there in the winter, summer and every season in-between. Only place in this country I’ve targeted fish and never got one, but I’ll never give up, so anytime I’m down that way I cast a line.

Here’s some of our dusty old manuscripts we’ve dragged out for your pleasure.  If you’re looking for a quite Sunday read, check them out on amazon by clicking the covers.
